Hi there & and welcome! I’m Anja.

I’m a language lover, passionate teacher, and your future German guide. I’ve been teaching German online for over six years, and it’s been a joy to connect with people from all over the world. Every student brings something unique — and I truly believe learning works best when it feels human, supportive, and meaningful.



I was born and raised in Germany, but a few years ago I packed my bags and moved to Portugal, drawn by sunshine, a slower pace of life, and the courage to start something new. Along the way, I had to learn Portuguese myself — so I know firsthand what it feels like to search for words, make mistakes, and feel unsure while trying to express who you really are in another language.

I also grew up bilingual due to my parents’ roots (Serbo-Croatian), and I speak fluent English (C1–C2) and intermediate French (B1). Language has always been more than grammar to me — it’s about connection, identity, and self-expression.

What matters most to me as a teacher is helping people find their voice in German — without pressure and without fear. I focus on building confidence, clarity, and real-life communication, while creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. My lessons are structured, but flexible; focused, but human.
Progress matters — perfection doesn’t.

My teaching is shaped by my interest in psychology, neuroscience, and personal development. I care a lot about how we learn, how our conscious and subcoscious beliefs influence our voice and progress, and how confidence grows when we feel safe enough to try — and challenged enough to grow. My faith in God is the foundation of who I am and guides how I teach, with kindness, purpose, honesty, and respect for each individual’s journey.

Outside of teaching, I love being in nature, moving my body, painting, reading, writing, journaling, and spending time in stillness with Jesus. I care deeply about mental and physical well-being, creative expression, and meaningful conversations — and yes, I will absolutely stop to say hello to every dog I meet.
